                                                   Program Qualifications


                 Program Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Gain the ability to apply and use theoretical and practical knowledge acquired from fundamental sciences such as biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics to solve problems related to all relevant fields.

  2. Possess advanced theoretical knowledge in the field of molecular biology and genetics, supported by textbooks, practical tools, and other resources.

  3. Learn and effectively use current techniques and analytical methods in the field of molecular biology and genetics.

  4. Recognize and comprehend the molecular, structural, biochemical, and physiological characteristics of biological systems at the cellular, tissue, and organ levels.

  5. Acquire theoretical and practical knowledge about the applications of biotechnology in agriculture, health, environment, and other fields, becoming aware of their societal impacts and developing an understanding of their consequences.

  6. Analyze prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms in terms of their morphological, physiological, molecular, genetic, evolutionary, and developmental characteristics.

  7. Acquire advanced knowledge about the molecular mechanisms of diseases related to human health, including cancer, hereditary diseases, and immune system disorders.

  8. Develop innovative solutions to biological problems and understand the genetic and molecular basis of diseases, genome evolution, and the fundamentals of life through the use of computational methods.

  9. Gain knowledge and experience in multiple disciplines such as microbiology, biochemistry, physiology, toxicology, forensic science, bionanotechnology, radiobiology, cancer biology, and stem cell biology, in addition to molecular biology and genetics.

  10. Develop the ability to communicate effectively in Turkish, both orally and in writing, prepare written reports, and make effective presentations.

  11. Acquire knowledge of at least one foreign language and use it to follow field-related studies.

  12. Statistically analyze the results of scientific research in the field through adequate computer training required by the discipline.

  13. Gain the ability to conduct literature reviews using knowledge and skills acquired in the field, interpret and evaluate data, identify and analyze problems, and develop evidence-based solutions.

  14. Gain the ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.

  15. Be responsible for general laboratory rules, occupational health, and safety issues.

  16. Develop a sense of professional ethics and responsibility, and continuously improve professional knowledge and skills.
